Early 19th French Romantic Painting. Charming, oil on canvas painting of two young people lying side by side in a field. They are wearing peasant dress and seem to be having a conversation. There is a hay wagon in the middle of the field and mountains in the far distance. There are also trees and a fair blue sky.  Signed, by the well listed French artist, Jean Michel Groban (1770-1853).    Very good condition, no restoration, repairs or in-painting.  Detailed, ornate, original gilt frame in good condition.  A smaller painting by this artist sold in 2000 in France for $11,507.  25 1/2" wide x 20 3/4"  tall.  Price $7,500.00
