MEZZOTINT GEORGE MORELAND

Circa Late 18th or Early 19th Century Mezzotint Print by George Moreland, 1763-1804. This charming interior scene, features a woman sitting up in a bed while a nurse displays a new born baby to a finely dressed gentleman. This round print is richly detailed and hand- colored with soft pastel shades. This fine rare print is housed in an extraordinary shadow box frame, with bright gold gilding, a soft blue interior ring and elegant detail. I would guess that the frame is early 20th century and that the print was re-framed using the original round mat. Fully marked, "G. Moreland" Prnx and "W. Ward" Sculp (for the engraver).  Excellent condition through out. 17 1/2" diameter x 3" deep.  Price $650.
