AESTHETIC MOVEMENT

 JARDINIERE & PEDESTAL

Circa 1885.  Superb Aesthetic Movement jardinière and stand. This large, elegant, majolica pedestal has all the most sought after motifs of its genre. Wading birds in a pond with cat tails and lotus blossoms, a beautiful celadon color and a plethora of leaves, flowers and berries. Done in the manner of Mintons, this fine piece is not marked or at least not legibly. There is what appears to be an impressed mark on the base of the jardinière which I cannot read.  Perfect for the Victorian lover and especially collectors of Anglo-Japanesque decor. In very fine condition with one tight hairline on the top of the pedestal which cannot be felt and is only visible for an inch on the top band of the pedestal. 35 1/2" tall, over all x 15" at the widest point.   Price  $1500
