AUSTRIAN HAND PAINTED VASE

Circa 1891.  Large, elegant, hand painted porcelain vase. This beautiful, late 19th century antique vase is skillfully painted with a wistful, mono chromatic scene of trees in it's central panel, framed by a brightly colored wreath of flowers that is topped with a large lavender bow. Additional swags of flowers adorn both sides of this vase and there is an all over detail of raised white enamel that gives the entire piece a "jeweled" feel. The back-round color is ivory, with a neck and base of celadon green. There are also two graceful, gold gilded handles that have a white enamel bead in the middle which makes it appear as if the handles are formed from two pieces. While the palette is soft, the over-all size, shape and decoration make quite a statement. Fully marked on the base for the fine Austrian factory of Robert Hanke.  Excellent original condition no damage, losses or restorations. 11" tall x 8 1/4" wide.   Price $450.00
