FLOW BLUE SERVING PIECE

Circa 1840.  Unusual Flow Blue serving piece. Fully marked for the well know Staffordshire pottery maker J & G Alcock, Oriental Stone, this dish is in the Scinde pattern. The shape is an elongated scallop shell which forms a shallow bowl. The scene is Asian with buildings, trees and a man holding a flag. The color is deep and the glaze is nice and shiny. There are three tiny defects which I believe are original to it's making which can be clearly seen in our second photo. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate.  Fine original condition. 9" long x 5 1/4" wide.   Price  $350.00
