Circa 1860.  American, Victorian Renaissance Revival walnut and pine secretary desk - bookcase combination.  This deceptively simple fall-front desk is filled with fine Renaissance Revival detail.  The base is especially handsome with a bold curve and pierce carved sides and stretcher, finished with classic turned roundels and caps. The inside features a nicely configured insert in pine, with two drawers and large slots and small boxes.  The bookcase top has two original adjustable shelves in pine and a pine back.  The door glass is old, with a crack in the bottom corner of the right hand door (easily replaced).  Original working locks and key. Very good condition, well refinished some time in the recent past.  46" wide x 83" tall x 21" deep. Height to top of desk surface 28 1/2".   Price $3,600.
