Anglo-Japanese influenced ebonized cherry secretary.
Extra nice example of the most stylish pieces of this Period. Unusual
shape, featuring a double door bookcase topped by a spindle gallery over an
elegantly gilt-incised cylinder desk with pull out writing surface and Birds'
Eye maple interior. Two good size shelves, flank the cylinder, above a
single drawer and double door cabinet all gilt incised in the same Japanesque
Taste.
All original hardware and finish, with gilt incising. Signed in
drawer by the well known furniture maker, AH Andrews, Chicago.
