ANTIQUE Bronzes & Statuary

Circa 1870.  Tall, beautifully detailed Victorian parian statue.  This is a fine figure of a Classically dressed female in a heavily draped gown with an unusual ruffle at the waist. She is posed leaning on a short column with her left arm bent at the elbow and one finger pointing. Her right arm is resting against her side and she is holding what looks like a spike in her hand. She has a beautiful, thoughtful face and elegantly coifed long hair.  All original fine condition, no breaks, chips or repairs. The very white parian does have some tiny grey dots which are visible in our photos, which I believe are in the porcelain itself and not a damage or dirt. Very nice quality, probably by one of the good 19th century English makers.  Unmarked except for the impressed number 750. 13 1/4" tall x 6" wide x 4" deep.  Price  $475.00
