ANTIQUE CHAIRS

Circa 1700.  Fine pair of true Renaissance hall chairs.  Fresh from the estate of a former Governor of Maine.  Ornate, ivory inlaid backs with Classical figures, griffins and shield carved crests.  Carved paw feet.  Unusual petite size.  Very good condition, especially considering their age.  One leg appears to have been replaced in the distant past.  Some loss and wear to the inlay. 43" tall x 13 3/4" wide x 16" deep.  Seat height  19".  Price $4800 the pair.
