Circa 1840.  Rare, Period American Classical/Empire wig chest.  Beautifully matched Carpathian walnut solids and veneers.  Pine secondary wood. This fine chest consists of two long "wig" cabinets above single "glove" drawers with a central ogee mirror and cornice crown.  The bottom cabinet has three large drawers flanked by a fine ogee molding and topped with a set in marble.  The base has a delicate scallop molding on three sides.  Original marble, mirror, turned knobs, castors and locks.  Original finish lightly cleaned and waxed.  Unusually good original condition.    45” wide x 18 1/4” deep x 78"  tall with 2 3/4" castors.    Price $4,900.
