Circa 1900.   Large, bold and beautiful, pierce-carved alabaster lamp.  More sculpture than lamp, with beautifully carved roses and myriad leaves, making up the large central oval body of the lamp.  The base is large and round with a flowing rope carving .  The finial is of the same grand scale and is also pierce carved. I have never seen anything like this lamp.  Soft white alabaster with some charcoal colored patches.  Some chips to the body, the finial has been broken and re-glued.  None of the chips are very obvious and nothing detracts from this alabaster beauty.  Electric with single bulb Edison fixture which lights the lamp from inside.    28 " tall x 12" center diameter, 9"base diameter.  Price $3400.
