ANTIQUE Lighting & sconces

Circa 1900.   Extra large and beautifully sculpted Late Victorian/Art Nouveau, newel post lamp.  This imposing  light features a lovely young woman in a sensuously draped dress dancing beneath five graceful lights.  Each lamp shade is heavily etched and pleated.  The maidens hair is curled and piled high.  She has her arms in the air and her feet crossed, there  is a wonderful sense of movement.  Her body is painted off-white and her hair is gold and her lips pink.  Her dress is a rich green.  The base of the lamp is a fancy open- work cast iron,  painted in gold and green.  The light stems are green and the shade holders a gold painted cast iron.  There is a chip in the paint on the knee and toe of the figure and it appears the figure itself is actually BRONZE.  It is very heavy and not magnetic.   It looks like the original paint but may have been done in the 1920's or 1930's to make it look more Art Deco.  We have left it in "as found" condition. It looks wonderful  as is and the two chips in the paint could be easily and professionally restored.  Original period shades and on/off switch ( pictured next to the chipped toe) fine overall condition, rewired    38 " tall x 18" wide x 8"diameter.  Price  $2800.
