Circa 1885.  Handsome American Victorian fireplace mantel in slate.  A wonderful example of 19th century Eastlake/Aesthetic Movement design, done in a fine variegated grey and soft green stone and gilded, incised  "Modern Gothic" detail.  Cleaned, polished and waxed, complete and ready to mount.  Fine condition with only a few minor nicks to the edges.  Mantel top is 60"wide x 11" deep.  Complete overall height is 45 1/2".  Body is 52" wide x 6 1/2" deep.  Opening is 32" tall x 28" wide.  Price $3400.  Sale Price $2800.
