Circa 1875.  Handsome American Victorian fireplace mantel in slate.  A wonderful example of 19th century Renaissance Revival/Aesthetic Movement design, done in a soft grey stone and gilded, incised, detail, complete with the original cast iron insert.  Cleaned, polished and waxed, complete and ready to mount.  Fine condition with only a few minor nicks to the edges.  Mantel top is 57 1/2"wide x 11" deep.  Complete overall height is 44 1/2".  Body is 49" wide x 5 1/2" deep.  Opening is 32" tall x 29" wide.  Price $3400.
