MANTLES & FIREPLACE ACCESSORIES

Circa 1875.  Late Victorian mantel in slate.  Unusual for it's simplicity in a form more usually found in white marble mantels of the Renaissance Revival Period.  Fine, multi-colored slate serpentine mantel top over deep, ogee carved panels.  The face stone is a predominately soft gray color, with a darker, soft black, shaped keystone.  The mantel shelf is soft gray with a lot of deep sea-green.  Original fancy cast iron "summer cover" insert.  Good condition, ready to mount.  64" widest (mantel top) 49" wide body x 44" tall x 12" deep.  Opening is 29" wide x 32" tall.  Price $2400.00.
