Circa 1930.  Art Deco bookends in the form of a nude male "Sisyphus", a character from Greek mythology.  Sisyphus was a king who was cursed to roll a huge boulder up a hill only to have it roll down again for all eternity.  All original, metal with a "bronzed" finish and original green felt bottoms.  Marked, 1930 with a circled capital C between the 19 and the 30.  Very good original finish with very minor wear along the bottom edge.  5 1/2" tall x 5" deep x 4 1/2" widest.  Price  $295. the pair.
