ANTIQUE Miscellaneous
Circa 1900. Antique oak three panel folding screen, decorated with pyrography. Pyrography is the art of decorating wood or other objects with burn marks. Also called "poker work", pyrography was very popular in the Victorian Era. This turn of the century oak dressing screen is a nice example of this art. The top panel of each section has an "Arts & Crafts" looking tree with hanging bunches of grapes. In the center panel there is a picture of a man in what appears to be pilgrim attire. The frame is simple "stick and ball" style oak. We have installed a new, soft maroon fabric to each panel. The fabric is easily replaced, if you would like to change it's look. The wood has some old restorations and re-gluing. Good, ready to use condition, nicely re-polished by us. 56 1/2" wide x 64" tall overall, each panel is 19" wide x 64" tall. Price $650.
