Circa 1860. Very fine pair of hand-colored English hunt prints. Exceptionally well done, fully signed, "after H. Alken" on the lower left and "engraved by G. Sutherland" on the lower right. One is titled "Training At Newmarket" and the other "Running At Epsom". The engravings are in very fine original condition, with beautiful original matting that is outlined in a fine gold leaf. The original frames are black ogee molding with a fancy gilt gesso trim with considerable losses to the gesso. 14 1/2 "high x 31" wide over-all, 8 1/2" x 25" sight. Price $1400 for the pair..
