Circa 1860.  Fine, large, chromo-lithograph under glass with original decoupage.  Fragile by nature, and hard to find in good condition, this print, titled in both French and English, "The Love Letter" is definitely a rarity. In it, a handsome young women reclines as she reads a letter.  A fancy headdress, necklace, bracelet, corsage and decorations on her gown have all been added in the form of paper cut-outs. Original gilt gesso frame with losses.  The upper left  hand  corner is missing but blends surprisingly well into the back round and does not seriously distract. The large white spots are reflections of our lighting on the glass.  "As found"
