18th Century.  Fine large oil on canvas portrait of a young women. Probably English in origin, this aristocratic looking  women is painted with large round eyes on a pale face and high forehead, surrounded by fine tendrils of hair that frame her face and long neck.  She is wearing a simple pearl necklace and a gown with a deep bodice and puffy white sleeves.  She has a velvet scarf over one shoulder and her hands are unseen.  Over- all a graceful, well done portrait typical of late 18th century style.   There is considerable age crazing on the area of her bodice and what looks to be a small area of in-painting on the dark back-round. Nicely framed in an old but not original gilt gesso frame.   Unsigned.  37 "high x 32" wide over-all, art alone is  30" x 25".  Price $5000.
