Circa 1882.  Very unusual Victorian, blue velvet picture frame. I have never seen one quite like this before and it's detail proved very difficult to photograph. The velvet is three dimensional with a pattern that includes draped curtains, tassels and a large urn with flowers.  Along the bottom there is a pattern of smaller urns.  The photo of a women lies behind curved glass framed by an Aesthetic Movement style inner molding and a second trim of what appears to be wrapped pink silk. All original, very good condition with all the wear limited to the back and leather edging.    10 1/2 "high x 9 1/8" wide over-all,  glass alone is 5 1/2" x 3 3/4".  Price $375.
