Circa 1830.  American Classical sideboard in the Philadelphia style.  This fine Period sideboard is made of highly figured crotch mahogany and solid American cherry with a pine interior and original Sandwich Glass and cast brass knobs.  Unusual single-board cherry top is in exceptional original condition with no age cracks or shrinkage.  Finely shaped backsplash, with highly figured and shaped side rails.  Two large drawers over three doors, of which two open in opposite directions to provide an extra large space.  Original shaped pine shelves and back. Turned columns and feet.  Original finish, cleaned and French polished. Working locks and key. Provenance: de-accessioned from the Germantown Pa. Historical Society.  61" wide x  23 1/2" deep x 50" tall overall, 42" to top surface.  Price $4,800.
