ANTIQUE SILVER & SILVER PLATE
Circa 1890. Very large, important, Victorian silvered bronze, centerpiece bowl. This is a very wide, relatively slender centerpiece bowl, featuring winged Putti flanking a blank cartouche themselves surrounded by ornate pierced open work with gargoyles all trimmed in clovers. Both sides of the bowl are identical. The four upturned feet are also decorated in a clover leaf design. Each side is finished with large open work handles reminiscent of the handles on fine Aesthetic Movement silver. This fine bowl retains it's original, removable copper liner. Very good original condition, with some small rubbed areas of the silvering where the bronze shows through. Un-marked. 21 3/4" wide x 9" tall x 7" deep. The base (feet) are 9" wide x 2 1/2" deep. Price $1400.
