Circa 1830. American Classical mahogany two-part table. Simply the most elegant and versatile table we have ever owned. It can be used together as a center or dining table. The separate halves can be used as demi-servers or wine tables. The top consists of beautifully matched crotch mahogany veneers radiating from a small circle producing a spectacular pattern. The base is a column with four concave sides with highly figured veneers and gadrooning. The feet are shaped and cut like gourds. The whole table has been French polished back to its original beauty. 29 1/2" high x 51" diameter closed and 51" wide x25 1/2" when divided in half. Attributed to Anthony Quervelle, Philadelphia.
