ANTIQUE TABLES

Circa 1875. Spectacular example of Italian "Fantasy" furniture.  This extra fine table features large winged mythical beasts as it's front legs, supporting a black slate set in top with a single drawer. The drawer and the sides are inlaid with various motifs of dragons, creatures, flowers and vines.  This fine marquetry is further enhanced by delicate "pen work" that adds additional detail to the frieze.  The back legs are also inlaid with a lighter contrasting wood.  The top molding is very nicely carved in a  Renaissance style.  Walnut with various inlays and slate top in fine condition.  Restored and polished.   42" wide x 22 1/2"deep x 31 1/2" tall.   Price $ 5700.00
