Circa 1835.  19th c American, Classical/Period American Empire work table/stand in mahogany. Extra nice original condition with virtually intact highly figured crotch mahogany veneers on all but the top surface and drop leaves which are solid mahogany and also in very fine condition.  This table was found with the original interior work surface (desk area) missing and we have replaced it using mahogany.  Free standing and finished on all sides, it has a four sided tapering pedestal on a serpentine base and well turned feet. Both curved drawers retain their original locks and wooden knobs.  Cleaned and lightly French polished.  18" wide x 18 " deep x 28 1/2" tall, closed, each drop leaf adds 10" over-all it opens to 37 1/2" width.  Price $ 1600.00
